Overview

MIT school of Film & television is established in the year 2015 by Executive Director Rahul V. Karad. This institute is located on the Raj Kapoor’s Land Rajbaugh where popular films are shoot by him. Institute is designed for those who wish to understand technique behind Film making and various acts behind it. We at MIT school of Film and Television, students from diverse background are shortlisted after round of interview and previous work done in that area, as well as specific area in which student is interested is identified. Visual and performing artist who share a passion for motion pictures and want to learn by making their own projects & hands-on intensive Program. Students those who are willing Learning to be a Film Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Sound Designer, Art Director, Actor, Screen Play Writer or Animator are separately identified . Once student’s background and area of interest is identified then the students will be placed in selected program of their choice. In Each Program Students will get hands-on experience, trial and error, feedback and correction, and questions and answers, hence in each program limited number of students are selected . Filmmaking demands the integration of many kinds of knowledge. It is the integration of knowledge that distinguishes MIT school of Film and television than many other institutes.

At MIT school of Film and Television, we encourage limited number of students and see that students will get hand on experiences also they will be mentored by the faculty time to time. MIT school of Film & Television institute is on residential campus students can get the benefit of the same.

Admission Process

Student willing to take admission in MIT-SFT should have to go through the following procedure:

  • Every month MIT-SFT will conduct exam on the 1st weekend of every month till June, 2016 at Rajbaug Campus.
  • Timing for the examination will be from 10 am to 12 noon. Reporting time will be 9.30 am
  • Student must refer to his/her choice of the FILM / TV course for the eligibility and then consider applying for the course by downloading and filling up the admission form available online on www.mitsft.in

Applying Online

  • You can apply online by visiting www.mitsft.in and pay application fees (Rs.1000/-) through NEFT/ NET Banking transaction mode. The NEFT details are as under:

Applying Offline

  • You can print application from admission procedure page on www.mitsft.in and send it to us and send it by post with attached Demand Draft of Rs.1000 as entrance exam fees.
  • DD should be in favour of MIT SFT, payable at Pune. Submit the attested copies of:
  • Std 10th & 12th certificates for UG Courses
  • Std 10th & 12th certificates and Graduation certificates ( upto 2nd year where result of final year exam is awaited) for PG Courses
  • Please note that scanned/ illegible documents are not acceptable.
  • Your passport size photographs – 2 nos.
  • Your photo ID ( Driving license/ PAN card, Passport)
  • Transfer/ Leaving Certificate
  • You may also get the application form and brochure (Rs.1000/-) from institute’s office and submit it along with necessary documents.

Selection Process

  • Each candidate will have to appear for the Entrance exam and
  • Personal Interview conducted by the institute. Each candidate would be assessed out of 100 marks as follows:
  • Current affairs – 10 marks
  • Art & culture – 10 marks
  • Cinema knowledge – 80 marks
  • The personal interview comprises of discussion with a panel of experts. Candidates will be judged based on:
    • Self-Analysis
    • Socio-Political awareness
    • Knowledge of World cinema/art/culture
    • Future plans

Important Dates

  • Entrance exam: Every month MIT-SFT will conduct exam on the 1st weekend of every month till June, 2016 at Rajbaug Campus, Loni Kalbhor. The schedule is as follows:

Admission Rules

  • Admission will be confirmed only after submission of required documents and fulfilling the eligibility norms.
  • INR 1,25,000 for Film courses and INR 75,000 for TV courses to be paid immediately, against course fees at the time of admission
  • Total INR 1,00,000 will be charged for all courses as caution money  (refundable by the end of the course). An initial amount of INR 50,000 will have to be paid along with course fees. The balance i.e. INR 50,000 will have to be paid at the time of the second instalment. 
  • Students from the other universities/ institutes in India seeking admission to the college will have to apply in the prescribed form.
  • Commencement of the programme: 1st week of July, 2016.
