"Engineering education in Maharashtra state got boost in the year 1983 When Chief Minister of Maharashtra state Hon. Shri. Vasantdada Patil gave permission to start unaided technical institutions.

During more than last three decades, engineering education has registered a horizontal growth with large number of technical institutions across the state.

Now what engineering education needs is the vertical growth by creating centres of excellence in different disciplines of Engineering.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology has taken an initiative in this regards by starting post graduate courses in all faculties and establishing Ph. D. centres in few departments.

Our infrastructure facilities are excellent and we have dedicated excellent faculty members who inspire students to build winning personality.

We conduct courses in soft skills which increases employability of the students who pass out.

At MIT, we emphasize on all-round development of students. Every effort is made to create a lateral thinking approach amongst the Students."

Rahul is advancing the inherited vision and mission of his visionary academician father Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, Founder MIT Group of Institutions, with a fearless passion and deep rooted patriotic content in his heart. He holds a firm conviction in channelizing the power of youth to augment their active participation in our pluralistic democracy. His true nationalistic consciousness keeps finding expressions through numerous activities that he initiates and infuses a renewed sense of pride and patriotism amongst the young budding minds.

Addressing his burning desire in contribution to Nation Building prompted him trudge a new path reflecting in the shape of MIT School of Government. With his energized focus and genuine involvement, the School is honing and nurturing the next generation of Indian Political Leaders and his efforts are appreciated, placed and valued in the national context. Dr. Mangesh T. Karad Secretary & Trustee

Dr. Mangesh T.Karad is the name of most charismatic personality of MIT Group of Institutions. He is a person who devotedly stepped in the foot-steps of his uncle Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad to start his career as a lecturer in the early days of the MIT Group of Institutions and switched over to development of MIT group.

विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद् याति पात्रताम्। पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम्॥

His innate capacity of hard work and calibre of being a perfectionist reaped into his rising as an Executive Director and now a Secretary of MAEER's MIT Group as well, who looks after overall coordination and development requirements of the growing MIT Group of Institutions.

He has received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from an International University, Shri Lanka after his Masters and Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering respectively, from Pune University.

Dr. Mangesh T.Karad is popularly known as a man of golden heart with a remarkable zest and vigour to excel. He has been crucial in bringing up innovative projects to the MIT Group of Institutions. He believes in academic excellence, and is steadily engaged in scrupulous planning, strategy designing for the MIT Group. Due to his thoughtful approach and attitude for continuous research, he pioneered outstanding courses and launched unique colleges like MANET which is one of its kind in the country imparting Engineering education for maritime industry. He is also passionate about making India as a preferred destination for professional education for foreign nationals . His efforts towards facilitating world class innovative education has reaped into helping MIT Group succeed bragging the permission to start 5th Private State University of Maharashtra "MIT University Art, Design & Technology". He belives in Development of World Class University in India is the forthcoming challenge for all Indian Universities. Also he firmly believes that to remain in the race of World Class University We have to work hard towards Center of Excellence and here onward those who will practise innovations will remain in the Race.

Dr. Sunil Karad Treasurer & Trustee

A childhood aptly described is the one that Dr. Sunil had in Rameshwar. Born on Thursday, 27th January 1972, in the family of Varkari Sampraday he was brought up in pious environment and in close association with nature amidst strong family values and high regard for Indian culture. Here, he developed – personally, socially and spiritually. Having done his primary schooling in Rameshwar, he went on to pursue higher planes of education beginning with secondary schooling in Pune.Since then, there has been no looking back

Dr. Sunil first brush with the urban life came with his first visit to Pune – in 1981. By then, his uncle, the now eminent Educationist, Dr. Vishawanath Karad, was already working with the Government College of Engineering, Pune. It was Dr. Vishwanath Karad sir's vision and passion for education and the selfless love of his wife, which brought Dr. Sunil to Pune for pursuing the best possible education. At the age of 9, he secured admission to the prestigious Jnana Prabodhini Prashala which was an achievement taking into consideration the tough entrance one has to crack to get there. Jnana Prabodhini played an important role in moulding him to be not just a thorough academician, but an extremely responsible citizen of free India, thus increasing his social responsibility quotient. He goes on to say, "I attribute the larger part of my success achieved in my life, to Dr. Vishwanath Karad and my parents and equally to my teachers in JnanaPrabodhini."

Dr. Mrs. Suchitra NagareJoint Treasurer & Trustee

After completing her graduation from Latur Medical College, Dr. Mrs. Suchitra Nagare completed course in Imaging from University of Leeds (U.K.). She has taken the responsibility of Executive director of MIMER Medical College, Talegaon Dabhade, since June 2005.Within this short span, she has pursued the dream of development of MIMER Medical College with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.

With inborn capacity to gear up the momentum, she has taken up the responsibility to develop the Medical wing of MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions

With her positive, innovative and yet, practical approach, she has not only geared up the pace of development of the institute, but has broadened the scope of being a world class institute, placing it on the map of nation.

With her unequivocal capacity of bringing out the best out of each individual and dynamic decision making abilities, she has been an inspiration for all the faculty, staff and the students community.

Dr.Virendra GhaisasJoint Secretary

A graduate from KIMS Karad in the year 1996, he completed his MS (ENT) from JNMC,Belgaum in the year 2001. He has got special training on Rhinoplasty from Marien Hospital,Stuttgart and specializes in Facial Plastic Surgery.

He has presented papers in National, Zonal and Regional conferences and has been awarded with First Prize for Paper Presentation, Dr. Bhide Memorial Award at MENTCON 2006. He also has Educational DVD for Undergraduate & Postgraduate students “Video Laryngoscopy by 900 Sinus cope” in his name.

Mrs. Swati Chate Executive Director, MIT Group of Institutions

Mrs.Swati Chate madam, an E&Tc Engineer and esteemed alumnus of MAEER's MIT College is a person who truly embodies simple living and high thinking. Highly motivated daughter of legendary father Prof. Dr. V.D. Karad sir, she has devoted herself to the development of the School Division of MAEER's MIT Group of Institution. She is a strong willed person whose action speaks louder than words. She is pivotal in spreading the wings of Gurukul Schools from year 2007,today the number has reached to seven and vision is to make a century of it encompassing the nation.

Ideally, the sole aim of any Technical Institute is not only to increase the 'employability' of Technical graduates, but also to produce Entrepreneurs. "National Cadet Corps" is considered to be the second line of defense for the country. Youthful, energetic, Sincere Patriotic boys and girls come together and work as NCC Cadets, with the motto, "Unity & Discipline", NCC helps a great deal in shaping up the overall personality of these young men and women, who would be the responsible citizens of tomorrow & in whom lies the future of the country.

The training important to the cadets is rigorous and is oriented towards inculcation of officer like qualities & leadership. Importance of qualities such as sincerity, honesty, Unity, brotherhood, bravery, resilience, single mindedness, resourcefulness etc. is imbibed onto the young minds in systematic & disciplined manner. The 'Cardinal Principles' which make sound foundation are obey with smile, punctuality, work hard without fuss, make no excuse & tell no lies.

On MIT Group of Institutions Campus, the activity of NCC was started in the year of 1995. With in the span of eighteen years. The troop has flourished in to a huge family and is comprised of the cadets belonging to all three wings of NCC along with NCC volunteers. National Cadet Corps and allied adventure, social, cultural, academic and co-curricular activities constitute a very special future of MIT Group of Institutions, a premier professional institution of national repute.

The training imported is rigorous and consistent. This includes weekly theory classes on service subjects, basic foot drill, weapon drill, adventure activities like trekking, water sports, aero sports, actual power flying, aero modeling & ship modeling, Apart from this, the troop offers excellent exposure and awareness about social service and environmental activities as an important aspect of training.

The social activities include regular organization of blood donation drives to provide blood and allied components to a number of blood banks, hospitals and patients. Voluntary help is being offered to advanced stage cancer patients at Cipla Palliative Care & Training Centre. Work is being carried out to help HIV positive children and wom en, thalassemia patients, old age homes and orphanages. These activities are carried out throughout the year except exam time.

Quality cultural programs are performed at various occasions, which provides platform to showcase a variety of talents. Efforts are made continuously to enhance the academic performance of all troop members by way of discussions and by conduction tests. Orals and Knowledge enhancement sessions. Counseling are conducted regularly for improvement in academics, overall personality and for judging the best possible career options. The troop members are always involved in searching for likeminded personalities and convincing them for good social cause.

To carry out all the above mentioned activities in systematic, disciplined and efficient manner, the total strength of the troop is divided in to five committees based on the hierarchical pattern. This helps a great deal in distribution of work & responsibilities, development of specific skills and leadership qualities.

MIT Group of Institutions initiated the revolutionary spread of technical education in Maharashtra facilitating quality education to a knowledge deprived society which was then depended on a very few Government Engineering Institutions. Maharashtra Institute of Technology, the flagship institute of MIT Group of institutions was established in the year 1983, under the trust called MAEER acronym for "Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune". MIT is one of the first nine private Engineering institutions of Maharashtra. It's a dream come true of a simple and dedicated teacher Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, founder of MIT Group who coveted that the quality education should reach masses and made available to every merit holder irrespective of one's class, creed or religion.

What makes MIT special is the strong ethical foundation upon which MIT Group has embarked. Its life-mission of imparting education with five main principles of Holistic Social Development Policy:

Today after 32 years of excellence MIT Group has 64 institutions with more than 6,500 teaching and nonteaching personnel catering educational needs of more than 50000 thousand students in more than 12 campuses all over Maharashtra.

At MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions, the value based quality education is being facilitated in varied fields like of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Marine Engineering, Music, Sangeet, Distance Education, Telecom Management, Design, Food Technology ,Management, innovative School of Government and also the Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary School Education bragging the Best Ranking in each stream . On 31July 2015, MIT Group got the permission to start the MIT's University of Art, Design and Technology at the Raj Baug Campus at Loni, 25km away from Pune. This University will facilitate courses in Liberal Arts, Fashion and Design, Films and Broadcasting, Maritime Education, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, Food Technology and many other streams. Our main emphasis would be to deliver courses in innovative way adapting to Global methods of fully flexible Credit system of assessment.

Apart from Quality education MIT Group of Institutions believe in value based education system. In appreciation of the work carried out by the MAEER MIT's 'World Peace Centre' in championing the cause of promoting the Value based Universal Education system for spreading the message of peace in society with the apt blend of science, technology and spirituality, UNESCO, Paris bestowed it with an UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and Tolerance on May12, 1998.
